Are you drinking too much Coffee?

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

Every morning you wake from your dreamland, to start the day off with a large cup of your favorite coffee. What if you are drinking too much at once?

Do you measure your coffee before placing it in the coffee maker, or are you like I was for the longest time? I used to just fill the coffee filter to the middle of the filter and enjoy my coffee every morning.

I did not think about it being too much coffee for me to consume daily. If you are using an already measured coffee pot ‘like Keurig, or something along those lines. That is ok.

Those people out there that still fix their filtered coffee should read below what I have found out about your health and too much coffee consumption every day.

How Much Coffee Should I Put in My Coffee Filter?

1 – Tablespoon of Coffee for Every 5 0z’s of water.

1 – US Made Coffee Cup = 8 ounces

If you have a 12 Cup Coffee Maker, you can do the math below.

12 cups x 8 ounces = 96 ounces.

So, your Coffee Maker holds 96 ounces of water on average.

5 ounces divided by 96 ounces because you need 5 ounces of water per 1 tablespoon of coffee. This will tell you how much coffee you can safely place in your coffee pot without going over. This total is about 19 tablespoons of coffee. The easiest way to figure this out is to use a measuring cup.

If you use the figure above, you will never go over the amount of coffee being used. If you want stronger coffee, you can place a little more coffee in there. (21 to 23 tablespoons max).

This weight will help you figure out other Coffee pot sizes on average. Just remember you can figure out the same math as the larger coffee pots for smaller ones.

1 – Cup equals 8 ounces

4 cup Coffee Maker equals 32 ounces.

Divide 32 by 5 ounces of water and you get 6.4 tablespoons of coffee because you calculate 1 tablespoon for every 5 ounces of water.

If you want a stronger coffee, then you can use around 8 to 10 tablespoons max for a (4) cup Coffee maker.

Health Concerns for too much Coffee Consumption.

  1. Headaches

  2. Tremors

  3. Panic Attacks

  4. Depression

  5. The Feeling of Hopelessness

There are more problems with drinking too much coffee, but these are the more common problems. You can go to any (free) medical dictionary for the side effects and issues with drinking too much Coffee.

If you are having problems in any of these areas, then you can cut back on your Coffee intake just to see if this is causing your problems.

I am not going to take too much more of your time. I hope this information helps you see what amount of coffee you are drinking. I wish you the best and stay safe out there coffee drinkers.

Thanks.
